Small Changes, Big Impact
Shelley’s Story:
Shelley attended her first CardiAction Heart & Artery Screening at Unichem Cambridge Pharmacy in May 2025. She arrived feeling quite apprehensive, but with reassurance from our Screener she decided to go ahead with the test.
Her initial screening showed that several of her heart and artery indicators were elevated outside of the CardiAction Target Range which may indicate increased cardiovascular risk. The Screener discussed a few small changes that Shelley could make to her diet and daily routine and she was encouraged to return in 3-6 months to check her progress.
In October 2025, Shelley returned for her follow-up appointment. She was still a bit anxious, but this time she walked away feeling thrilled.
By making just a few simple, consistent changes, Shelley achieved incredible improvements:
Her blood pressure dropped significantly – an improvement of 22%
Her arterial flexibility had improved by 60%
All her readings were now within the ‘healthy target range’
And all of that happened in just three months!
“This was the best thing I could have ever hoped for. I’m encouraged to look after myself more and I’m feeling so energised and confident. It’s easy to eat right and move more! If I can do this anyone can!!”
Peace of Mind Is Priceless
Lois’ Story:
Sometimes the most important screenings are the ones you book before anything feels wrong.
Lois felt fit, healthy, and well – but with a family history of stroke and blood pressure issues, she chose to be proactive and book a CardiAction Heart & Artery Screening.
That decision gave her something invaluable: peace of mind.
“I’m 72 years old and I consider myself fit and healthy.
I booked a CardiAction screening at Waihi Beach Chemist after seeing it advertised on Facebook. The appointment only took around 20 minutes, and the screener, Michelle, was incredibly friendly and informative.
After the screening, Michelle took the time to go through all my results with me, and I later received a full written report by email that was easy to understand.
Even though I felt well, I decided to do the screening because we have a family history of blood pressure issues and stroke. My brother passed away suddenly at 55 when his aorta burst, and my mother also suffered a stroke at a young age.
I’m very pleased to say my results were good, and I’ve been advised to return in a year for another review. If the results hadn’t been good, I feel confident I would have been given clear recommendations and follow-up support.
I would encourage anyone to book this screening. It’s painless – and it really puts your mind at rest.”
