The team behind CardiAction are based in Christchurch, Auckland and across Australia. We have combined decades of experience working in general practice medicine, medical research, pharmacy, health management technology and business to bring our screening to you.

For our team, CardiAction represents the culmination of a lifetime working on improving community healthcare and wanting to create a service that makes preventative care available to all.

Carolyn Oakley-Brown

Carolyn Oakley-Brown

Managing Director

Carolyn is the Founder and Managing Director of Health Screening NZ who has spent her entire career working in community healthcare. As a pharmacist in Christchurch for over 40 years, Carolyn runs the Oakley-Brown Pharmacy Group which currently owns 5 pharmacies throughout the city and one pharmacy depot in Hanmer Springs. Having lost her father to a heart attack, Carolyn started this business as a legacy to him and is motivated to save as many lives as possible.

Carolyn has strategically improved outside relationships with other local and national health care practitioners and the CDHB funding provider and uses this background to drive CardiAction being available as a community pharmacy service. Although Carolyn recently stood down from several National Health Boards, she was made a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of NZ in recognition of significant and outstanding contribution to the advancement of the practice of Pharmacy in NZ.

Lillie Latter

Lillie Latter

Business Manager

Lillie is the Business Manager for Health Screening NZ and has been involved in the development of CardiAction since 2020. Originally coming from a legal and travel background, Lillie has quickly adapted to learning the skills needed to turn the concept of CardiAction into a nationwide screening service. Lillie’s responsibilities include overseeing the licensing, technical and medical operations, product management, training and development of screeners and just about anything else that may pop-up along the way!

Lillie has always been interested in healthcare and thrives on the challenge of working with experts at the top of their game and bringing their knowledge to the public. Originally from Cornwall (UK), Lillie has lived in Auckland since 2017 and loves to spend her free time playing sport, seeing friends and travelling as much as she can.

John Cook

Dr John Cook

Medical Director

John is the Chief Medical Officer of 3P HealthCare Ltd – our partners in creating CardiAction. Dr Cook has over 40 years’ experience as a GP in Christchurch and throughout that time has shown total commitment to his patient’s health and wellbeing as well as prioritising the importance of community health.

Throughout his career Dr Cook has always looked for new ways to provide bespoke healthcare and is the person who introduced the use of personal genetic profiling and nutrigenomics in Precision Medicine and personalised healthcare into the New Zealand General Practice consciousness. Launching CardiAction embodies a lifetime of Dr Cook’s career which combines researching new methods of healthcare with the latest technology. Dr Cook firmly believes that a personalised approach to healthcare and lifestyle guidance is the most effective way to improve patients physical and mental health and has had great success using PWA testing and genetic information in his own Practice and believes that CardiAction can help all New Zealanders improve their health.

Digital Marketing & Account Manager

Katrina has been working in the Pharmacy industry since she left high school, firstly graduating as a Pharmacy Assistant at the Christchurch Academy then as a Technician with Polytech. Over my 20 years in pharmacy, 5 of those were spent in Australia working in Oncology. She remains working in Pharmacy for the Oakley-Brown Pharmacy Group where she has been employed for 5 years, as well and Health Screening New Zealand since it began in 2020. Katrina is passionate about helping people and encouraging everyone to take their health seriously and is a Mum to two energetic and entertaining young children, as well as a fighter of Retinitis Pigmentosa. Ultimately Katrina believes good health and happiness are the way to lead a long and fulfilling life.
